DOWNHILL
i have at least 4 inches of paper to read for the first two days of the next week (and majority of those readings are for just two subjects). i should be studying, but instead, i'm watching the tv. i've been glued to it ever since i woke up.

as of now, the government has just declared makati to be in a state of rebellion because of the rebel soldiers who took over several commercial and residental buildings in makati. bombs have been planted to ensure, according to the rebels, their safety, should the government attempt to quell the rebellion. the rebels were also given a 5pm ultimatum by GMA (philippine president), with a threat of the use of force if such is not complied with. it's the calm before the storm.

and if by 5pm, the rebels refuse to yield before the government, there is the possibility that all hell might break loose in makati.

i live in makati.

life doesn't get any better than this.

MORE CHANGES
fixed the scrollbar and did some research on html, etc. i got more things figured out and i might be putting in more changes next week. also moved the posts to see if i could put some more stuff on the left side of the site. irritated by the sidebar though. stupid thing just won't cooperate.

going to try to post another jpeg to see if it works:

anyhoo, i better get back reading cases.

WUTHA
a test just banished me to the seventh level of hell. i must be one evil bastard.

The Dante's Inferno Test has banished you to the Seventh Level of Hell!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:

LevelScore
Purgatory (Repenting Believers)Very Low
Level 1 - Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers)Very Low
Level 2 (Lustful)Very High
Level 3 (Gluttonous)High
Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious)Moderate
Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy)Very High
Level 6 - The City of Dis (Heretics)Low
Level 7 (Violent)Extreme
Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers)Very High
Level 9 - Cocytus (Treacherous)High

Take the Dante's Inferno Hell Test

the seventh level of hell
Guarded by the Minotaur, who snarls in fury, and encircled within the river Phlegethon, filled with boiling blood, is the Seventh Level of Hell. The violent, the assasins, the tyrants, and the war-mongers lament their pitiless mischiefs in the river, while centaurs armed with bows and arrows shoot those who try to escape their punishment. The stench here is overpowering. This level is also home to the wood of the suicides- stunted and gnarled trees with twisting branches and poisoned fruit. At the time of final judgement, their bodies will hang from their branches. In those branches the Harpies, foul birdlike creatures with human faces, make their nests. Beyond the wood is scorching sand where those who committed violence against God and nature are showered with flakes of fire that rain down against their naked bodies. Blasphemers and sodomites writhe in pain, their tongues more loosed to lamentation, and out of their eyes gushes forth their woe. Usurers, who followed neither nature nor art, also share company in the Seventh Level.

yeah, i guess i am.

PAST LIFE AND THEN SOME
i got to check my past life, see for yourself (hmmm, so i was a female in my past life. that's probably why a lot of people ask if i'm gay in my present life *lol*):

Your past life diagnosis:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know how you feel about it, but you were female in your last earthly incarnation.
You were born somewhere in the territory of modern Center Russia around the year 1450.
Your profession was that of a chemist, alchemist or poison manufacturer.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your brief psychological profile in your past life:
You were a sane, practical person, a materialist with no spiritual consciousness. Your simple wisdom helped the weaker and the poor.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The lesson that your last past life brought to your present incarnation:
Your lesson is to conquer jealousy and anger in yourself and then in those who will select you as their guide. You should understand that these weaknesses are caused by fear and self-regret.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you remember now?

you can see yours here: past life predictions... try it...

UPDATES
so much to do, so little time. i'm still behind in my crim and consti readings, and to make matters worse, i wasn't able to get my new readings in persons. i was hoping that i'll be able to locate them online, but so far, i've been unsuccessful. i have no idea where to find them on the internet and i've tried everything i know.

found an online law dictionary and i also put it up on my site so i can use it right away. blockmates, you can also use it if you want to. well, that is, if you go here or if you even know about this site. *lol*

when i fix this up more (read: make it less of a template and give it a more personal touch), i'd probably tell other people about this site. the keyword is when.

OOH, I DIDN'T KNOW I COULD DO THIS
mysterious
You have a mysterious kiss. Your partner never
knows what you're going to come up with next;
this creates great excitement and arousal never
knowing what to expect. And it's sure to end
in a kiss as great as your mystery.

What kind of kiss are you?

wow, if this works, this is going to be the first pick i have on this site.

jam has recently gone quiz-crazy the last couple of days. expect more in the coming days. anyhoo, hee, didn't know i had such a mysterious kiss. i have a bum knee but i sure, as hell, didn't know anything about mysterious kisses. *lol*

yup, that's right, i'm missing class for the second straight day, all because of knee problems. hafta make up for all the classes i missed when i get back to school.

NEW STUFF
put in a guestbook today.

finally, there's something other than my thoughts (read: TEXT) in this blog. also added some more links to sites. will add more links when i have the time. i'm still having problems with the font size and layout.

maybe today wasn't really that much of a waste since i was able to put in a chatbox and guestbook and play around with the blog in general. i was hoping that by this time i'd be able to, at least, put some pics, but hey, maybe that would be aiming a little too high.

maybe next time.

i have to start my legal method papers.

BUM KNEE
woke up today to find my right knee all swollen up again.

i ended up sitting on a chair, right leg propped up by another chair with 4-5 icepacks strapped to my knee. i would have gone to school if i had a choice. but i didn't. so here i am, just waiting my knee go numb (well, at least, the pain's going down).

i hope i don't get called in any of my subjects today. pity. i mean, i studied and all for those subjects. anyhoo, well, at least, i got some time to look over html and scripting. i think i'm getting the hang of it. i still don't know how to apply it to blogs because they have their own script variation, but i think i'll get there.

changed the colors of some fonts, added a chatbox (it's only a pop-up though) and added some links. check out explodingdog. it's worth it.

still figuring out how blog script works and how i can edit it. help would be appreciated.

ANNOUNCEMENT
*eherm eherm*

i am now a meteor garden fan. yes, the taiwanese soap opera that has taken asia by storm has also taken over jam. all throughout the weekend, while studying, i have laughed, cringed and cried with and at the characters of MG. *sigh* it's just one of those things you can't resist. MG is up there on the list, beside harry potter and CSI.

ain't life grand?

presently, jam is undergoing therapy and eye treatment to correct the effects of meteor garden subtitle syndrome [MGSS] (that's when you spend over 20 hours staring at the computer screen, watching MG, reading and trying to understand the subtitles, while studying. effects are as follows: double vision, intermittent headaches, involuntary eye twitching, the tendency to just stare at the bottom of the tv screen regardless of what show is one and speaking random chinese words).

SO MANY MOVIES, SO MANY READINGS, SO LITTLE TIME
i got to watch x2 on dvd last night with cam and i liked it.

ok, that was an understatement, i really really liked it. nightcrawler looked great and moved great. by far, one of the best characters in the movie, i'm already looking forward to seeing more of him in the future. the same goes for colossus(i'm not even sure i spelled it right. and here i am telling everyone how big an xmen fan i've been and i can't spell one name right *LOL*) and jubilee. some of the kids in the mansion also seemed familiar - i mean the girl who screamed like a banshee could be the daughter of an xman banshee - well, if i remember the comic book series correctly.

deathstrike was kind of a disappointment. she only got enough airtime to act ignorant (when mystique - once again, i don't remember how to spell a name- got into her office) and to look good (walking around with stryker/striker, smiling every now and then) and dying (fight with wolverine). their fightscene rocked but as yours truly has big problems with sharp objects cutting into skin, i was looking away or covering my eyes at certain points.

pissed off wolverine + claws + lotsa bad guys = more violence = fun. finally, action for wolverine. it's a guy thing.

mystique, i think,is also the most useful mutant i have ever seen in the two movies. she can disguise herself and deceive everyone (appearance and voice), she can fight, she's resourceful, she's smart and street-smart, and she's done nothing but work in the two movies. how can you beat that?

storm was still the ooh-get-me-mad-and-i-will-use-my-powers-on-you-just-stand-and-wait-they-take-a-long-time-to-summon storm of the first movie. i mean, in the time it takes for her to summon her powers, i could have run out, bought a gun, loaded it, eaten lunch, bum around, then shot her. well, i exaggerate but i don't understand why her enemies just stand around when she uses her powers - really funny actually. but i like her. maybe more on her next time.

more on x2 next time.

i've been online for the past hour or so and all i've done is try and get myself up to date. social and entertainment lives have all but virtually stopped since i started the schoolyear. anyway, i just wanted to list down the movies i want to watch so i could just check back here when i do find the time to watch them.

movies that have been shown already (but i didn't get to see)
1. the hulk - contains, according to those who have seen it, the most adorable hulk ever. and by that i mean cute.
2. harry potter 2: chamber of secrets - yes, i profess to be an HP fan but i still haven't watched the second movie. sad.
3. austin powers 3 - hey, they told me it was funny.
4. amelie

movies to watch out for
1. 28 days later - apocalyptic stuff + zombies are always cool.
2. the debut - film about filipinos in america.
3. van helsing - hugh jackman vs. frankenstein's monster, the wolfman and, of course, dracula.
4. pirates of the caribbean - i just have to see this. let's see how good the elf is at being a pirate.
5. troy - i'm a sucker for these kinds of movies.
6. HP movies - of course!
7. the return of the king - this, of course, needs no further explanation.
8. tomb raider 2 - when games cross over to movies, you watch. enough said.
9. matrix revolutions - i can't wait.
10. freddy vs. jason - bescause no matter how bad it is, i just have to see it.

right now i can't think of other movies i would like to watch..i'd probably add more next time.

right now, i have to think of all my readings. yes, that's right, jam will be sifting through cases and articles for a majority of this saturday morning.

pathetic.

A YEAR OLDER PHYSICALLY, A YEAR YOUNGER MENTALLY
jesus christ, it's my birthday today but i totally forgot about it because when i woke up, i just reaached over from under my pillow, pulled out my crumpled yellow pad and just continued what i was doing when i fell asleep: reading and making notes for law. i only remembered that today was my birthday when my baby sis went inside the room and kissed me and told me happy birthday.

and ever since that time, i've just bummed around in bed. the yellow pad is on the floor, along with my old crim readings. meg, i think, is looking for her colored pens. cute.

then people started texting me again. maybe birthdays are just "hey-let's-appreciate-and-make-this-person-special" days. right now, it's comforting to know that some people remembered and that some people care. ok, ok, i'll stop before i go weepy and dramatic all over the blog.

ha, actually, the previous paragraph was my pathetic attempt to let people know when my birthday is because i still don't know how to make an info section. but hey, this is all about me. my site. my words. so mark it on your calendars (take out your planners, phones or PDAs): june 29 is jam's birthday.

i watched charlie's angels: full throttle yesterday and it was ok, i guess - not so bad, not so good..but it was fun to watch if you don't want to overwork your brain (and so it becomes a "must watch" for us law school students). kind of disappointed with bernie mac's part though because i was so looking forward to him in the movie. i really find him funny and he cracked me up in the full throttle teasers and trailers. not so with the movie. he was funny but not as funny as i thought he would be in the movie.

i have actually finished reading harry potter and the order of the phoenix in the last few days (or maybe week - i don't really remember because i've also been reading cases for law nonstop. as with the other books in the HP series, it was extremely fun to read. JKR seems to have expanded her target market this time, with a lot of big words included in the text (by big words, of course, i mean words that some kids would need to ask older people about). the pace is much slower though - unlike the other books. the cover and the color scheme of this book is also, IMHO, better than the previous one - i guess i'm just a sucker for blue.

i'm still thinking about making my own website but i still don't have the time to do it and i still don't know how to make one.

bum.

WHEN TIME IS NOT ON YOUR SIDE
harry potter and the order of the phoenix. in. my. hands. hee, if only i can find enough time to stop gloating and actually read the thing.

the book is expensive and i want to read it so much right now but i still have to study. darn, i think i can read every now and then all throughout the week. i hope i survive graded recitation if i do. i just drained my wallet so i don't have enough money to actually spend photocopying all the cases and assignments that i have to read.

maybe next week, i can talk about book 5 and what i think of it.

oh well, back to reading criminal cases.

VACATION BADLY NEEDED
have been reading a lot of stuff the last few days.

my god, law school is no joke. i have spent almost every waking hour studying and reading and studying and reading again. i virtually have no time to do anything else (and yes, that includes eating and going online).

and the funny thing is that when the week ended, it felt more like a semester! my brain felt overworked (obviously, said brain didn't get enough work during college) and my writing hand spasms every now and then. i've also gone through 2 signpens already in those four to six days of studying and i think i'm going to throw up if i see another sheet of yellow pad again (so, by my estimate, i'll be throwing up again in around 13 minutes).

oh well, i guess, i'll get used to it. see y'all around.
